A DAY of healthy activities emphasised children’s green credentials at St Mary’s Primary School, Greenfield.

The school was proud to achieve the Green Flag Eco-Award last summer and this week held one if its regular health and eco days.

Pupils took part in a range of activities, starting with a whole school dance session led by teaching assistant Dawn Tomlinson, a dance teacher in her spare time.

Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 pupils enjoyed a day of gardening, litter picking, health and hygiene with the school nurse.

Key Stage 2 tackled problem solving, team building, circuit training and safety with a Police Community Support Officer.

Meanwhile, children with packed lunches were asked to reduce the amount of throw-away packaging and have a litter free lunch and sports leaders held a fun skipping workshop, paid for by the after-school club.
