Tickets ‘not to blame’

BOSSES say that a new queuing system is not the cause of long waits at Oldham’s Post Office. Instead they blamed the temporary closure of another branch.
A queuing system has been introduced at the Lord Street office, with people issued supermarket-style numbered tickets.
One fed-up customer on Monday was issued number 80 when staff were serving customer number 31 and claimed a wait of two hours, which the Post Office refuted.
A spokesman said: “We apologise to anyone who may have waited longer than usual. This was due to the number of people using the branch, because of the closure for refurbishment of Royton Post Office.”
