Detectives investigating a robbery at a shop in Oldham on Easter Sunday are now tackling two crimes after the store was targeted again less than 48 hours later.
At around 9.30pm on Tuesday (April 3) officers responded to reports that a man had entered McColl’s newsagent on Oldham Road in Failsworth and demanded money from staff behind the till.
Staff members did as they were told with the man leaving with a quantity of money.
It’s understood the man was armed with a knife at the time of the incident and threatened staff.
It comes just two days after another man entered the same shop and, after waiting for other shoppers to leave, approached the till and threatened a female member of staff with a glass bottle.
The member of staff put up a fight before being over-powered with the robber gaining access to the till before fleeing with a quantity of cash.
Anyone with information about either incident is being urged to contact police on 101.
