Residents in an Oldham street were left horrified after one ‘thug’ left 13 cars with broken windows during one single night’s rampage.
The early morning damage was reported to police with some people claiming the person responsible had the strength of 100 men while the damage was being caused.
A number of people tried to deter the vandal from continuing with the damage on Huddersfield Road in Scouthead, but he threatened them, with some believing he was in possession of a gun.
However, those reports haven’t been confirmed by Greater Manchester Police.
The thug was eventually arrested by police during the early hours of yesterday (Monday) but not before an off-duty officer, who lives nearby, was punched in the face and a van, which tried to catch the man, had a brick thrown at it.
In all 13 cars have been left damaged by the incident, which is understood to have happened at around 1.30am on Monday morning.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police have confirmed a 23-year old man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, assault and robbery in Oldham town centre.
He remains in custody for questioning.
