Two men are due to appear before Magistrates charged with murder following the death of a man in Uppermill over the weekend.
Twenty-four-year old Daniel Forster, of Ashfield Crescent, Springhead and 24-year old Michael Milligan Nield, of Society Street, Shaw, have both been charged with the murder of 34-year-old Daniel Hogan.
They have been remanded to appear before Manchester Magistrates Court today (Monday).
The charges are in relation to an incident which took place on High Street on Friday.
Police were called shortly after 11:30pm to reports that a man had collapsed with head injuries.
Emergency services attended and administered first aid to the man before he was rushed to hospital, where he sadly died a short time later.
He has since been formally identified as Daniel Hogan.
Daniel was originally from Rochdale but had recently been living in Saddleworth.
GMP would like to thank the local community for the significant amount of support offered since the incident took place.
The investigation continues and anyone with information should contact police on 0161 856 9283 or the independent charity Crimestopppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
