Trial date set for pair accused of Uppermill murder

Neither entered a plea during the short hearing
Two men from Oldham have appeared in court charged with murdering 34-year-old Daniel Hogan just days before Christmas while on a night out.
Twenty-four-year-old Daniel Forster, from Ashfield Close in Springhead, appeared at Preston Crown Court yesterday (Thursday) alongside 24-year-old Michael Milligan Nield, of Society Street in Shaw.
Neither entered a plea during the short hearing.
Their trial date was set for Monday, June 10 at Manchester Crown Court.
The pair are also due to appear at Manchester Crown Court on Friday, January 25 for a preliminary hearing.
Both men have been remanded in custody.
The charges are in connection with an incident on at around 11.30pm on Friday (December 21) outside a pub in Uppermill.
According to police, Daniel Hogan collapsed having suffered serious head injuries.
He was given first aid at the scene and rushed to hospital but died a short time later.
