Chronicle and Revolution 96.2 agree unique deal with Athletic

Date published: 09 January 2019

Credible Media – owners of Revolution 96.2, the Oldham Chronicle and three local magazines – have signed a unique sponsorship deal with Oldham Athletic Football Club.

The deal – which will be officially sealed before Athletic's home League Two clash against Forest Green Rovers on Saturday – will see both groups aim to significantly raise the profile of Oldham on a local and national stage.

Oldham Athletic will gain a presence across the Credible Media family, including broadcast, print, and digital.

The agreement will see the Oldham Athletic brand in front of an audience of 300,000 per quarter.

Athletic will receive comprehensive coverage across Revolution 96.2 and Oldham Chronicle - including team news, match reports and fixtures.

Breaking stories will be covered across both brands.

Updates from the Oldham Athletic Academy will be posted across radio, print and digital titles.

The Credible brands will be featured in digital displays at Boundary Park, as well as regular pieces in match day programmes.

Credible Media owner Matt Ramsbottom said: “It's an exciting time for the town, and our agreement cements the relationship we currently enjoy with Oldham Athletic.

"It's taken some time to create a distinctive partnership that showcases the best of sport and media in Oldham, and we look forward to working together both now and in the future."

Athletic are currently enjoying plenty of media spotlight following the team’s heroics in the FA Cup third round on Sunday when caretaker manager Pete Wild guided them to a dream 2-1 win at Premier League Fulham.

A trip to Doncaster Rovers now awaits in the fourth round in a couple of weeks.

Athletic owner Abdallah Lemsagam said: "We are very happy to be working with Matt and the Credible team.

"As a club we are proud of the work we do in the town and we want to put Oldham on the map.

"We know how important our role is within the community and we are looking forward to showcasing the good work that is being done throughout the town."
