Further four people charged after dawn raids in Oldham

Four people, including three men from the Oldham area have been remanded in custody to appear at Tameside Magistrates court today (Wednesday 22nd May 2019).

The charges follow a number of warrants executed in Oldham last week (Thursday 16th May).

The investigation, under Operation Hansford, considered 120 offences including aggravated burglary, robbery, car theft, assault, violent disorder and criminal damage, all believed to be orchestrated by the same crime group.

30- year old Matthew Bowers formerly of Carnation Road in Oldham, 35- year old Ryan Stewart formerly of Brooklands Street in Royton and 31- year old Peter Clarke formerly of Limeside have been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary, conspiracy to steal motor vehicles and conspiracy to commit robbery.

29-year old Gareth Robinson, formerly of Border Mill Fold in Mossley has also been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary, conspiracy to commit robbery, conspiracy to steal motor vehicles, conspiracy to receive stolen goods, handling of stolen goods and theft of a motor vehicle.

A 21-year old woman who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released under investigation, pending further enquiries.

Seven people have been previously charged as part of Operation Hansford.
