A housing group has offered condolences to the family of a woman who was killed on their new-build site in Chadderton.
A murder investigation has been launched after a fatal stabbing on Watermill Avenue in which a 36-year-old woman died and a 16 year-old-girl was injured.
Houses on the street have been up for less than two years and Great Places Housing Group are still on site as the development is to be extended.
Simon Robinson, Director of Neighbourhoods at Great Places Housing Group, said:
"Our local neighbourhoods team was alerted to an incident at one of our properties at Water Mill Avenue late last night. Our deepest condolences go out to the victim’s family at this difficult time and we will look to support the police as part of their ongoing investigation."
Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police as soon as possible.
