Detectives investigating the death of a man in Mossley have made two arrests as a murder inquiry continues.

Thomas Campbell, who was 38, was found dead at an address on Riverside at around 10.30am on Sunday, July 3.

Despite the best efforts of emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene and a murder investigation has continued since at a rapid pace.

A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on July 7 and a second man, aged 37, was also arrested on suspicion of murder on Friday (July 8).

They both remain in custody at this time.

Detective Inspector Mark Davis, from GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “These arrests are huge steps in our murder inquiry as we piece together what was a horrific attack and get the family the answers they so badly need.

“Our investigation is very much continuing into what we still believe to have been a targeted and deliberate.

“Anyone who may have any information is urged to do the right thing and report it.
