A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Just after 5pm today (Thursday, 4th July), firefighters were called to reports of a fire at a commercial premises on Manchester Road in Mossley.
“Three fire engines from Mossley, Ashton and Stalybridge fire stations quickly arrived at the scene.
"Firefighters used breathing apparatus and a positive pressure ventilation fan to extinguish the fire, which had broken out in a small outbuilding of a derelict mill.
"Customers at the adjoining pub were evacuated as a precaution and were later allowed back inside.
