The Greenfield village Christmas tree lighting-up event on Saturday was a great success.
The tree itself has grown into a magnificent specimen and looks stunning with its many coloured lights and shining star, says Steph Pelmore.
Frank Rothwell had intended to perform the countdown but was called away to support his football team - Latics - who were playing in London that day.
His place was taken by local Councillor Helen Bishop, who did a sterling job.
Unfortunately, the mince pies ran out afterwards, but organisers have been assured by Tesco Community Champion Greg Barratt that the order will be doubled for next time!
As always, thanks to Greenfield Band, Linda at Boarshurst Band Club for use of the Club afterwards, and Oldham Mountain Rescue, who acted as marshalls.
Plus, thanks to all who helped behind the scenes to make this annual event possible.
