Action all the way at Isaan home show

Date published: 13 October 2025

The Isaan Muay Thai training centre, based in Oldham, hosted their second home show - the Isaan Fight Series #2 - at the Ashton Masonic Hall.

There was a 15-fight card, and Isaan had five boxers representing the gym.

They included Oscar Cheethum, aged 14 from Moorside, Mikie McCombie, aged 12 from Derker, Jac Yates, aged 14 from Chadderton and Amelia Saffron, aged 23 from Grotton.

Isaan walked away with two wins, two losses and one draw.

The main event saw Isaan’s Mason Booth go head to head with Jayden Gill from Nak Muayin Leamington Spa for the Vacant ISKA British title.

Isaan head coach Ste Donnelly said: "I believe Jayden Gill is the hottest and most dangerous prospect in the 53.5kg division in the UK right now who people don’t want to fight,

"However, we got the tactics absolutely spot on with continued smart pressure.

"Mason took a massive jumping knee to the face in round two - how he took that shot I'll never know.

"He fought another three rounds with a broken jaw in two places - it was an absolute war.

"Mason really took over in rounds 4/5 to take the win.

"I’m absolutely delighted for Mason - he's a proper pro now and a lovely young man.

"He deserves all the success that comes his way.

"He just needs time to recover, while we're looking forward to a big 2026 for the gym.

"The Isaan Fight Series was a huge success - the atmosphere was electric.

"The main event really blew the roof off!"
