In-form Rovers provide the next test for Latics

Latics boss Harry Kewell is ready for a tough battle as his side head to bang-in-form Tranmere Rovers tomorrow.

Keith Hill’s side are flying at present.

They have shot themselves up to sixth place in League Two thanks to five wins in their last six games, and reached the Wembley final of the Papa John’s Trophy in midweek courtesy of a terrific 2-0 victory at League One outfit Oxford.

“It's a big period that we're coming into," said Kewell, whose team were edged out 4-3 at promotion-chasing Forest Green Rovers on Tuesday night.

"We have 13 games to go before we have a slight break, so it's going to be tough. “There is going to be rotation, there is going to be movement.

“I have options on the bench.

“I know this team has a lot more in them, they want to play the right way.

“They will fight, and all my teams will fight.”

Latics’ midweek loss saw them slip to 17th place in League Two.

They host struggling Barrow on Tuesday night (February 23).
