Applauz CIC and Sarah Byrne Acting Academy are working together on the production, with a cast largely drawn from the academy’s senior class.
The play will be performed on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October 2026 as part of a production inspired by Oldham’s year as Greater Manchester Town of Culture.
Two real-life brothers will take on the roles of Bisto and Scullery.
The cast also includes Harley Hamilton as Joey, Eryn Hall as Clare and Phoebe Weston as Marion.
Hamilton has played Oscar in Emmerdale, while Hall has played Heidi in High Hoops. Weston is due to appear in the film Werewolf later this year.
Sarah Byrne, director of Sarah Byrne Acting Academy, said: “Road is one of the most powerful plays we've ever tackled, and watching these young performers bring Jim Cartwright's characters to life has been incredible. This is exactly what Oldham's Town of Culture year should be about, giving local talent a stage.”
