Chadderton man charged in connection with Moston murder

A Chadderton man is the sixth person to be charged following the murder of a teenage boy in Moston.

Nelson Correria (aged 21) of Lansdowne Court, has been charged with violent disorder and the murder of 16-year-old Alexander John Soyoye

He has been remanded in custody to appear before Manchester Magistrates' Court tomorrow morning (Saturday).

Just after 7pm on Thursday, November 5, 2020, police were called to reports of a disturbance on Birchenall Street in Moston. 

Officers attended and established that Alexander John Soyoye had been stabbed.

He was pronounced dead at the scene despite the best efforts of emergency services.

Four other men and a teenage boy have also been charged with murder and have been remanded into custody ahead of further court appearances. 

Francesco Raji and Christopher Semedo, both of Elm Road, Oldham; Brent Tchipenda, of Wistaria Road and Octavio Antonio of Northwold Drive, Manchester, have all been charged with murder and violent disorder in connection with this incident. 

A 15-year-old boy was also charged with murder and violent disorder.
