Dare To Know theatre is currently bringing Oldham holiday joy with the Oldham Advent Calendar, a festive countdown set to release 25 original performances in the lead up to Christmas.
The theatre is releasing one micro-performance each day from December 1–25, where each will be released day-by-day on their social media platforms.
Ranging from short plays and monologues to dances, poems, and songs, the participants have been putting their hard work into developing, rehearsing and filming their pieces over the past ten weeks.
The theatre shows its true commitment to creating meaningful, community-focused work in this project as it collaborates with various individuals across the creative Oldham community.
All with different motivations and creative passions, this project has sparked, reignited and grown the participants' love for creativity.
Co-founders Miranda Parker and Jake Talbot, who established Dare to Know Theatre in 2020, have continued their mission to create work that centres the voices, experiences, and talents of local people.
“This project has been such a joyful way to end the year,” says co-founder Miranda Parker.
“Everyone involved has brought something unique to the table, and watching these pieces come to life has been truly inspiring.”
“The countdown to Christmas feels a little more magical when you're creating it together.”
The Oldham Advent Calendar is the company’s latest celebration of community spirit - an invitation to share stories, spread joy, and shine a spotlight on the creativity found within the borough.
Audiences can follow along, join in the festivities, and support local creativity by following Dare to Know Theatre on social media.
Catch up on the performances already released and make sure you don’t miss the rest of the countdown.
