Officers have released a description of a man they want to in connection with the incident.
It’s understood it happened on Tuesday (2nd July) on Tatchbury Road in Failsworth when the elderly lady heard a knock on her door.
When she answered the offender, believed to be in his late 60s, said his wife had just died and in the past, he had done some work on the property.
In a post on their Facebook page, GMP Failsworth and Hollinwood didn’t say if the man got away with any items this time however they have said the offender is described as a white male in his late 60s with no facial hair.
He was wearing a beige coat and a flat cap.
Anyone with information about what happened is being urged to contact officers on 101.
