Hathershaw College pupil Ibrahim, aged 14, has been helping local charities and his Hospital charity for the past two years by raising awareness of them using numerous generous methods.
Altogether, Ibrahim is helping 10 charities.
They are the Oldham Foodbank, RMCH Charity, Maggie’s, Mahdlo’s, Spoons, Dr Kershaw’s, Oldham Street Angels, Ukeff, Real Change Oldham, Team Hill and last year he helped the Action Oldham Fund.
Ibrahim raises funds for these charities by staging bake sales, sourcing sponsors, donating his pocket money each week, donating his Eid money and he didn’t celebrate his 13th and 14th birthday because instead he asked if, instead of a party and presents, and money was donated to his charities.
Ibrahim has received other awards.
He received the British Citizen Youth Medal in June last year and in September he won the highly commended award at the Northwest Charity Awards.
In December 2019 he became the youngest on the new year honours list at the age of 13 as he was presented with a BEM.
After being nominated initially by the Oldham Foodbank, Ibrahim was shocked to have been shortlisted by the National Fundraising Awards as he never imagined that his local campaign would make the cut.
To go and win the young fundraiser of the year award for all the local charities he supports has been just overwhelming.
Ibrahim said: "I want to thank my amazing town for supporting me so much, especially the #oldhamhour community and all my followers for their phenomenal support.
"This is for all the charities and my town.
"Please all I ask is for everyone to please support all these incredible charities."
