Oldham outfit Clear Value Trading receives King’s Award for Enterprise
Date published: 13 October 2025

CVT provides a core range of major brand products from leading manufacturers, along with residual stock or ‘clearance lines’
Oldham-based Clear Value Trading (CVT) has been formally presented with the King’s Award for Enterprise, following the announcement of the company’s achievement in May.
The company, which is a wholesaler specialising in the supply of toiletries and household cleaning products to customers across the UK, Europe and increasingly globally, is a 2025 King’s Award For Enterprise winner in the International Trade category in recognition of its successes in the export market.
Despite the significant and rapid change that has impacted global trade over recent years, particularly as a result of the pandemic and the UK’s exit from the European Union, CVT has maintained consistent growth by adapting to the changing landscape.
This included, in 2020, forming a Dutch-based business working in partnership with a leading European logistics specialist, to ensure the company could continue to serve its customers within the EU efficiently and reliably.
The award was presented on behalf of His Majesty The King by the Lord-Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, Diane Hawkins, who is the King’s official representative in the region.
Lord-Lieutenant, Diane Hawkins, said: “The King’s Award for Enterprise is very special because it represents teamwork, as well as reflecting vision, creativity, sound management, good communication and a really enthusiastic workforce.
"So, it belongs to everyone in the company.
“I hope this award will be a tangible benefit to CVT and that it will be useful to you in future, particularly as your customers will recognise it.”
Receiving the award, Matthew Sowerby, director of CVT said: “It is an honour to receive the King’s Award for Enterprise, which I’m sure will be hugely beneficial to our business.
"It is most certainly an award that reflects the hard work of the whole team, and that’s why I’d like to thank every member of our team for the contribution that they make to our business success.”
As a ‘delivered wholesaler’ operating for over 15 years, CVT has developed a broad customer base including many large and small retailers, as well as other wholesalers.
The company provides a core range of major brand products from leading manufacturers, along with residual stock or ‘clearance lines’ – stock made available to the market at a reduced cost for a host of reasons, such as due to a packaging redesign or discontinuation of a product.
