Wild to have his say on 'All things Latics' podcast

Former Latics caretaker manager Pete Wild
The Chronicle’s increasingly popular ‘All things Latics’ podcast has secured Pete Wild as a guest on next week’s show.
Pete – a huge Boundary Park fans’ favourite thanks to two successful stints as caretaker manager last season – will join regular hosts Simon Smedley, Billy Quarmby and Simon Brooke and will discuss the latest goings-on, on and off the pitch, at Latics.
Pete, a former Academy coach at Latics, was initially a shock appointment as caretaker boss last December following the sacking of Frankie Bunn.
He guided Latics to four wins and a draw in eight games at the helm, with the most notable being the epic FA Cup third round triumph at then Premier League outfit Fulham in January this year.
Local lad Pete – a lifelong Latics fan – then took temporary charge following Paul Scholes’ ill-fated reign between March 14 and the end of last season, winning four and drawing two from nine matches in charge.
After leaving Latics in the summer, Pete was appointed manager of FC Halifax Town, and they are now riding high in third place in the National League.
