First Choice Homes Oldham (FCHO) has been granted an injunction to stop a woman from sleeping rough in some of its Chadderton communal blocks following reports of anti-social and criminal activity.

The housing association was granted the court order with the power of arrest against Alisha Khan.

The injunction covers FCHO blocks in Middleton Road and three other areas in Chadderton - numbers 9-29 and 31-53 in Victoria Walk, blocks 70 and 72 in Garforth Street and block 2 in Bentley Street.

Manchester Civil Justice Centre was told 29-year-old Khan had been living in the communal areas and entering a flat in Middleton Road since April 2024 with allegations of substance misuse at the address.

FCHO has now applied for a possession order against the flat’s tenant for allowing it to be used for drug misuse.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) undertook joint visits with FCHO staff and provided statements to assist with the injunction application.

“The powerful legal measure will allow us to ensure this sort of anti-social and criminal behaviour is eliminated in these Chadderton properties,” said FCHO head of neighbourhood management Peter Davidson.

“All our customers have the right to enjoy their homes in peace and not to be victims of this sort of unacceptable activity.

“It is also further evidence that FCHO will not tolerate anti-social and criminal behaviour and we will work with partner organisations like GMP and use all the levers of the law to tackle it.”
